Agrasen ki Baoli
One of those rare unknown gems in Delhi, Agrasen ki Baoli is a must-visit place. It is one of the few historical stepwells in India and is now protected by the Archeological Survey department. It is a stepwell that allegedly comprises of three stories and 108 steps. Legend has it that, it was built by King Agrasen who lived during the time of Mahabharata, and was rebuilt by the rich Agarwal Community. Today's structure dates back to the 14th century, and stands as an evidence of the architectural skills of ancient people.
Garden of Five Senses
The Garden of five senses is the newest addition to the list of places to visit in Delhi. It is spread over an area of 20 acres and was launched in 2003. It is built on the concept to evoke the five senses of a human being. It is filled with exotic plants and flowers, rocks of different textures and sizes, fountains and many more. It can also be used to host a variety of events. This garden is easily accessible from the Saket Metro Station. When visiting Delhi, the Garden of Five Senses is a must-visit place.
Tughlakabad Fort
Tughlakabad Fort is a fort that was built by Ghiyas-ud-din Tughlaq, the founder of the Tughlag Dynasty. This fort was the residence of the dynasty till 1327, post which it was abandoned. At present, it is a ruined fort that has garnered steady tourist footfalls every year. The fort is a towering structure built of stone and comprises of walls up to 15 meters high topped with battlement parapets and bastions. Legend has it that, Tughlag wanted every labourer in its vicinity to built the fort city which insinuated fury among them. A saint then cursed the city leading to its destruction in the later years.
Nizamuddin Dargah
Widely known for its evening Qawwali music sessions, Nizamuddin Dargah is one of the most important places to visit in Delhi. It is the dargah of Nizamuddin Auliya, a sufi saint. It is situated in the Nizamuddin West area of Delhi, the dargah is visited by thousands of pilgrims every week. A visit to this tomb refreshes one's mind and soul. It comprises of 27 immaculate white marble petals and an inner sanctum for mediation and worship. It is surrounded by beautifully laid out gardens and water bodies as well.
